Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about keeping your home safe and snow-free.
How do HeatTrak mats work to melt snow?
HeatTrak mats are engineered with a durable heating element sandwiched between two layers of heavy-duty non-slip rubber. Once plugged into a standard 120V or 240V outlet, they generate enough heat to melt snow at a rate of 2 inches per hour.
Can I leave the mats outside all winter?
Yes, HeatTrak mats are designed to withstand the harshest winter conditions. They are built with high-quality UV-protected materials that can remain outdoors throughout the entire season without degrading.
Are the mats energy efficient?
Our mats are designed for efficiency. To maximize energy savings, we recommend using a HeatTrak thermostat or remote control to turn the mats on only when snow is expected or falling, rather than leaving them on 24/7.
What is your shipping policy for residential orders?
We offer standard ground shipping across North America. Most orders are processed within 1-2 business days, and delivery typically takes 3-7 business days depending on your location.
What is the warranty and return policy?
HeatTrak offers a 2-year manufacturer's warranty on all mats against defects. If you are not completely satisfied, you can return your unused product within 30 days of purchase for a full refund, minus shipping costs.
Can I connect multiple mats together?
Yes, our walkway and stair mats are designed to be daisy-chained. You can connect multiple mats to a single power unit, provided the total amperage does not exceed the limit of your circuit or the Power Unit (15 Amps).
